The porter bee escape is inserted into the hole on the crown board with the top hole uppermost. It acts as a one way door that allows the worker bees to leave the super and return to the brood nest during the night but the plastic springs prevent them from returning.
Place a crown board with 2 porter bee escapes between the supers and the brood chamber. If used properly the supers should be clear in 24 hours.
